For Professionals

Supporting Clinicians Working with High-Acuity Clients

Working with high-acuity clients who are experiencing active suicidality, severe dissociation, complex trauma, or crisis states, requires specialized skills, ongoing support, and a safe space to process the emotional weight of this work. If you're a mental health professional navigating these challenging cases, consultation can provide the clinical guidance and personal support you need to serve your clients effectively while protecting your own well-being.

What We Offer

Our consultation services are designed for therapists, counselors, social workers, and other mental health professionals who work with:

  • Clients with active or chronic suicidal ideation

  • High-risk clients requiring safety planning and crisis intervention

  • Individuals with complex trauma, PTSD, or dissociative disorders (including DID)

  • Clients experiencing spiritual abuse or religious trauma

  • Those with co-occurring disorders requiring integrated treatment approaches

  • Cases involving ethical dilemmas or difficult clinical decisions

Consultation Focus Areas

Clinical Case Consultation

We'll work through specific cases together, exploring treatment planning, intervention strategies, risk assessment, and therapeutic approaches. Whether you're feeling stuck, uncertain about next steps, or need a second opinion on a complex situation, consultation provides clarity and direction.

Managing Suicidality & Risk Assessment

Learn practical frameworks for assessing suicide risk, creating effective safety plans, navigating hospitalization decisions, and maintaining therapeutic relationships with chronically suicidal clients. We'll discuss how to balance client autonomy with duty to protect, and how to manage your own anxiety around risk.

Trauma-Informed & Evidence-Based Approaches

Explore specialized interventions including EMDR, REBT, and other evidence-based modalities for complex trauma. We'll discuss treatment sequencing, pacing trauma work, working with dissociative parts, and adapting approaches for high-acuity presentations.

Ethical & Legal Considerations

Navigate complex ethical situations including mandated reporting, boundaries with suicidal clients, duty to warn vs. confidentiality, documentation for high-risk cases, and managing your own liability concerns.

Consultation Format

  • Individual consultation sessions (50 minutes) via secure telehealth or in-person

  • Case-focused or skill-building approach based on your needs

  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate your practice

  • Confidential space to discuss cases (within legal/ethical boundaries)

  • Practical, actionable guidance you can implement immediately

Who This Is For

  • Early-career therapists building confidence with complex cases

  • Experienced clinicians seeking specialized guidance or a fresh perspective

  • Providers in private practice without regular peer consultation

  • Clinicians experiencing burnout or secondary trauma from high-acuity work

  • Anyone who feels isolated in this work and needs professional support

You don't have to navigate these challenging cases alone. Consultation provides the support, expertise, and perspective you need to do this demanding work sustainably and effectively.
